Personalised women’s health
Gynecology
Gynaecology is the branch of medicine that specifically deals with women. With their physiological functions, their reproductive system, and diseases that may occur in their life. It also deals with their treatment with conservative or surgical methods.
As a woman I know that a gynaecologist is more than a “doctor”. It is a part of the patients’ life since she participates in the most personal aspects of a woman’s health, but also in her most wonderful moments, the birth of her children.
In Gynaecology a good cooperation with the women who trust us in many transformational periods of their lives, is valuable.
The stages of women’s lives are based on the reproduction cycle. Whether entering puberty, or starting a family, or undergoing menopause.
I believe that the primary concern of a gynaecologist is the general care of a woman’s health.
And in Gynaecology, as in medicine in general, I believe in prevention.
We gynaecologists, are responsible to transfer the knowledge women should have, since today we know about the connection of most health problems with our lifestyle. The choices for a healthy lifestyle can significantly contribute to the reduction of risks to women’s health.
Most women of all ages are afraid for the health of their breasts.
In adolescence and in young ages, period pains, irregular cycles, contraception and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases are the leading topics.
Later, questions regarding their fertility arise, whether they have ovarian cysts, endometriosis, polyps, fibroids or anything else that could prevent them to experience motherhood.
And if a surgery is required? What is hysteroscopy, laparoscopy or open surgery?
And then comes the climacterium and menopause. How will they experience menopause with joy, optimism, and stress-free, when it concerns almost half of their life?
This is why I specialise in a wide range of women’s health issues, in order to give them comprehensive gynaecological care.
